15 Things To Consider When Choosing a Web Site Hosting Provider

If you are in the process of choosing the right web site hosting provider, don’t jump into making decisions without doing a research first, because if you end up choosing the wrong one, it will not only be a waste of time and money, but you will also compromise you business, your websites, blogs, or what have you.
In this new generation, where most people would rather check out a company’s website first before actually going to your business site, or checking out your actual products, you need to make a good impression. First impressions do last, and if your clients would check your website and then they would see that it is having a lot of problems, or is down most of the time, this would give them that impression may not be that reliable and even your prospect clients, will be easily turned off.
If you are running an e-commerce website, having frequent downtime would only mean less sales, and loss of profit. And for those who are using their website to write articles or promote products, the clients are likely to disapprove or discontinue working with them. I’m sure that non one wants that to happen. And to avoid all that, the very first step is choosing the right web site hosting provider.

Here are 15 Things To Consider When Choosing a Web Site Hosting Provider

  • Do a research about web hosting and gather a list of those whom you think suits your needs and budget
  • Read reviews of the said hosting companies from reliable sources. Reviews written by both experts in web hosting and the end-users who have experienced subscribing to the said web hosting providers.
  • Check and compare the ratings for each of the hosting providers.
  • Compare prices, some may be cheap but has limited functionality, some may be too expensive but does not have all the tools that you need. Choose the one that you think you would get a good value with a very competitive rate.
  • Check the bandwidth range and make sure that the package you will be subscribing to can provide enough space for your planned website. Sometimes upgading could cost you even more.
  • How many allowable databases can be created within the account?
  • check if the said web hosting provider supports unlimited services for add-on domains, email addresses, and sub-domains.
  • Choose a provider that has a 24 x 7 technical support and customer service, who can easily be reached through chat, ticketing system, and toll free numbers.
  • try to look for those who gives coupon codes to get a discounted rate.
  • Ask friends for their opinion, most especially those who have already experienced purchasing web site hosting accounts, and currently have their own self hosted websites up and running.
  • If possible, try to observe websites which are hosted in the web hosting provider which you plan to subscribe to, check how frequent their downtime are, or ask the website admin directly.
  • if you are planning to use the web hosting for business, check for free advertising bonuses and SEO services.
  • if you plan to sell products, check if they provide shopping carts or POS that has a wide range of merchant tools, payment options, and other ecommerce related tools.
  • if you are going to use it for blogging, check if it has simple scripts or other scripting program that allows you to install and create a CMS or blog.
  • If you plan to set-up websites with chat rooms and forums, check if your chosen web hosting package can handle the possible traffic breakout.

14 Signs of Bipolar Disorder

Bipolar disorder has become such a big deal for other people. When a family member or a friend is diagnosed to have bipolar disorder, people start to judge, and think differently of them. Some even tend to avoid people whom they suspect to have this illness. But as I examined the signs and symptoms of a person with a bipolar disorder, it made me realize one thing. Everyone could possibly be or has the tendency to become bipolar. Why? Because everyone, even young kids have the signs and symptoms too. I guess, the signs and symptoms of bipolar disorder is just move obvious with those who are diagnosed

Manic-depressive illness or bipolar disorder is a mental illness characterized by alternating periods of mania and major depression. Typically, the mood of a person with bipolar disorder will swing from overly “high” and irritable to sad and hopeless, and then back again, with periods of normal mood in between.

Manic episodes are characterized by a distinct period of abnormally and persistently elevated, expansive, or irritable mood. The episodes, with their restless energy and volatile mood swings, are severe enough to cause trouble at work and home. Episodes of milder manic symptoms are called hypomania.

Men with bipolar disorder tend to have more manic episodes; women are more likely to experience depressive episodes. The time between cycles can vary greatly. Bipolar disorder can begin with a bout of either depression or mania, but about two-thirds of bipolar disorder cases start with a manic episode, and mania tends to predominate. Signs and symptoms of mania include:

Starting A New Day At 12 Midnight

midnight blues

midnight blues

Isn’t it weird that the day actually starts at the middle of the night? :P Actually, I have been asking people this question since I was a kid. But no one seems to give me the right answer.

Why not after 3AM, the breaking dawn or 6 AM, when the sun is up? Sunrise has always been a symbol of a new day and a new beginning anyway. But why twelve midnight? Why? Does anyone know the reason?

If I were to become president of the world, I will change the time.  I will adjust 00:00 to 3 am, and then people will have the same work schedule, but it would mean, instead of going to work at 8 am, they will be going to work at 5am (current equivalent of 8 am).

I know it will be confusing at first, but people will get used to it someday. Instead of midnight, you can say you start your day at the break of dawn.  Doesn’t that make more sense?

11 Reasons why you should play multiplayer billiards game

I found a site that offers free multiplayer games,8c1.net.http://www.8c1.net, specifically multiplayer billiards online game. Let me give you 11 reason why you should try playing the game.

First, it’s free! You and your friends can sign-up and it wouldn’t cost you anything! Why spend for the same game if you have the chance to play it for free, right?

Second, it’s fun! Without a doubt you’ll find this game really fun to play, most especially if you are into playing pool or billiards.

Third, as the description says, it’s “multiplayer,” which only mean one thing. You don’t get to have fun alone, you can play the game with your friends, and even with people that you don’t know.

Fourth, it is user-friendly. It doesn’t require technical knowledge in order for you to play the game. Even a kid can play with it.

Fifth, it has a great and real looking graphical user interface. It’s as if you are  playing on an actual billiards table. The 3D build is well-designed.

Sixth, aside from being a multiplayer game, it is very interactive, since you can chat with your friends and all other online users inside a game room.

Seventh reason because  it’s online 24 x 7, for as long as you have a working connection and browser, you can play it anywhere and  anytime you want!

Number Eight  reason would be because  it’s international. You can meet other pool and billiards fanatics, who share the same interests as you. Who knows you might even meet your soulmate in the game room. (winkz)

Ninth reason would be connected to number 8, but it would be more inclined to the ease of finding players who came from the same country as yours, and you can choose game rooms of specific countries.

Tenth reason would be, you can invite any person to play a  private game with. Games are also rated, so you can keep track of how may games you played, won and lost, and same with your opponents.

…and Lastly 11th reason would be, because I said so. Why else would I be giving you the rest of the 10 reasons why you should try and play multiplayer billiards game anyway? It’s because I personally think it’s worth giving a shot!

Top 10 Personal Wishlist

On top of my list would be a powerboard because I think I will really have fun riding it in all terrains. It costs a lot though, but who knows, I might just be able to grab one. Nothing is impossible, most especially if it is something that can be bought or sold.

Second would be my own permanent place to stay at. I’ve become sort of a wanderer lately. I just wish I could have a comfortable place that I could call my own.

Third would be a new PC. I need  a new powerful PC that I could use not only for work, but most importantly for gaming :P

Fourth would be a motorbike, preferably a dirtbike. I miss riding one since I was forced to leave the sport behind due to some complexities.

Fifth on the list would be a new gaming console. I’m torn between Wii or xbox, because of the project natal for xbox 360, but I’d also love to have the new version of PSP, the PSP GO!

Number six would be a new AC unit to install in my new place (if I would have one, what will you have the AC for if you won’t have a place to stay anyway?) Waaah I miss my room, but I don’t want to go back home. I need to find a comfy place where I can relax and escape from the heat!

A new phone would probably have to fall on the seventh place, since it’s not that important to me, but still, I might need it for emergencies or something.

8th would be a new netbook, a handy pc that I can carry around with me anytime and anywhere, and would serve as a back up for my new PC just in case. I have this tendency to overuse the PC, and to extend its lifespan a little longer, I would be needing a back-up to use after all the online gaming escapades.

9th on my list would be a high definition LCD. Refer to number 5 and number 3. It’s on number 9 since I can actually do without it, but given a chance, I would love to have one. If anyone out there is interested to give it to me as a gift, even 29 inch HD LCD will do… :P

And Finally on number 10 is a car. But I doubt it that I can achieve it this year, so I guess if I won’t be able to buy this one just yet, I’ll say, maybe refer to number 4 for now.

9 Important Office Factors to Consider

You can still keep your office trendy looking with a minimalist design. Pick the right design and style of furniture that won’t take too much space and will make your small office have that comfortable and easy to breathe ambiance. Choose the  right color of every component that will blend in with the motif of the office.

Talking about motif, the number one thing to consider would be the paint of the walls, and the shades. If the space is small, you should not use dark colors, rather use light colors like yellow, or the lightest shade of your  favorite colors, to make the area look bigger that it really is.

Light colors also enhances brain function. Avoid the uber bright colors that could strain the eyes, just  choose the light ones. Dark shades and colors make the working environment gloomy and promotes stress.

Office Furniture is one important factor to consider. If you have a limited office space, you should not stack your office with bulky furniture that will make the place look too small. Choose the furniture that you can save and make use of every possible space without compromising the entire interior design and comfort.

When it comes to chairs, accessories, other office furniture and even peripherals like keyboards, etc., always consider one word “ergonomic.” Yes, there is such a thing as healthy and unhealthy furniture and peripherals. The less physically strained your people are, the more productive they will be.

Proper lighting is also important. Choose lighting that are environment friendly. Some lighting have the adverse effect of increasing greenhouse gas emissions.

Make use of power saving devices, and circuit breakers as well as emergency power back-up systems to avoid loss of information and work stoppage.

Proper Ventilation is  also very necessary. If you or your employees, most especially your clients are feeling uncomfortable, feeling too hot and are having a hard time breathing inside your office, you definitely have a big problem. If you have an open office, make sure there are a good number of windows, if not, provide fans or much better, working air conditioning units, and working exhausts. And to make things even lighter and easier to breathe, have at least a couple of plants inside the office, to give that relaxing ambiance.

Don’t ever take sanitation for granted. Even if the office space is small, one important thing to consider is to have a good sanitized rest room.  A small but well designed pantry is also a plus. Since not all employees eat out, you can have that small pantry where those who bring in food, can eat. Eating on their working desks and tables, would be a big no-no. Aside from it looks so unbecoming, it could also attract ants and insects.

Have a small area where one can relax, or if possible have a small sleeping lounge where one can rest. This area gives you and your employees that sense of relaxation and rest even just for a few minutes, and will give you a renewed energy or zest for work. It also help promote employees to become productive because they can tell relaxing environment apart from the working area.

But everything doesn’t end int a perfectly designed office. The rest is up to the people inside the office. Maintain an open relationship and avoid having that sense or superiority, making others feel inferior. Lastly, hold activities that will help promote camaraderie for everyone.

7 gifts you can give your dad on father’s day

The smell of Acqua Di Gio reminds me of my dad. What things does your dad have, that reminds you of him? Can you think of  something that you do or have in common? Or is there anything that you think would remind him of you every time he sees it?

So, have you got anything in mind yet? If you have, that’s good! At least you know that you know something about your dad, and he knows something about you. If you could not think of anything right now, that’s alright, we all suffer from mental block at times.

If you are thinking that I would suggest that you buy those things, you’re wrong, because there are other 7 gifts that you can give your dad this father’s day. Things that he already possess won’t be of any thrill. You should think of something he probably miss or wish he could have… but only limited to those things you can afford, alright? Just  like what?

First, take time to find out what kind of cologne or perfume he used to wear and liked most, yet doesn’t have it anymore. And then buy his favorite scent in a perfume store of his choice. Don’t wrap it and give it to him personally. Sneak into their room, replace his current perfume bottle with the new one.

The six other gifts, are things that would not cost you anything, or maybe they might, but very minimal. Always remember, it’s the thought that counts, not the price. So, what do I suggest?

  • a note saying happy father’s day. Less talk, less mistake.
  • a hug – I’m pretty sure not everyone do this everyday
  • a kiss – If you are comfortable doing this, don’t forget the greeting.
  • cook a special dish, be resourceful, make use of what you already have in your fridge or kitchen.
  • set a candle light dinner date for him and your mom, in the garden.
  • say I love you, and mean it.

Six Facts About Your Brain

what is this man thinking of?

what is this man thinking of?

Six Facts About Your Brain. There’s a lot of facts about the human brain, but why only six?

I’m leaving the task to the rest of you to find out more about how your brain works, otherwise, your brain won’t be put to use.

Anyway, here are my six brain facts to share…

Do You Know That….?

  • The brain represents about 2% of your total body weight. It is roughly 140mm wide, 167mm long and 93mm high. An adult human’s brain weighs 1,300 – 1,400 grams while  a newborn human’s brain weighs 350 – 400 grams
  • Your brain is capable of having more ideas than the number of atoms in the known universe!
  • Your brain uses approximately 20% of the total oxygen pumping around your body!
…and about 750ml of blood pumps through your brain every minute!
  • The human brain is approximately 75% water! Don’t let it evaporate without putting it to use (jk!)
  • Your brain consists of about 100 billion neurons! and that’s about 166 times the number of people there is on the planet!  It would take you approximately 171 years to  count them all. Meaning, you would die even before you are halfway towards finishing the count. But who cares, who wanna waste time counting their braincells anyway?
(which makes me wonder who did the counting part)

  • What you eat can also influence how effectively your brain operates.
